Stanley Cup Final
As of 2011, this is the last Stanley Cup in which both teams made their first appearance. The Florida Panthers had made it to the Final on their defensive strategy, but the Colorado Avalanche overcame the tight checking to win the series in a sweep.

Famous quotes containing the words stanley, cup and/or final:
“For when we must resign our vital breath,
Our Loves by Fate benighted,
We by this friendship shall survive in death,
Even in divorce united.
Weak Love through fortune or distrust
In time forgets to burn,
But this pursues us to the Urn,
And marries eithers Dust.”
—Thomas Stanley (16251678)
“I worked as a waitress till I was fired because I dumped a cup of hot coffee in the lap of a half-drunk guy who was pinching my butt.”
—Juli Loesch (b. c. 1953)
“The true use of Shakespeare or of Cervantes, of Homer or of Dante, of Chaucer or of Rabelais, is to augment ones own growing inner self.... The minds dialogue with itself is not primarily a social reality. All that the Western Canon can bring one is the proper use of ones own solitude, that solitude whose final form is ones confrontation with ones own mortality.”
—Harold Bloom (b. 1930)
