The Motorcraft Quality Parts 500 was scheduled March 14 but was held March 20 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The race was postponed to the effects of the 1993 Superstorm. Rusty Wallace won the pole. Jeff Gordon appeared headed to his first Winston Cup win when he lost control and spun in the muddy grass. Morgan Shepherd passed him and won the event, his final victory as of 2012.
