1987 World Snooker Championship

The 1987 Embassy World Snooker Championship took place at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield, England between 18 April – 4 May 1987.

Joe Johnson made it to the final again, as did Steve Davis, making it a repeat of the 1986 final. However Johnson did not defend his title, as he fell to the Crucible curse and lost 14–18 to Davis. It was Davis' fourth world title.

Famous quotes containing the word world:

No man, however benevolent, liberal, and wise, can use a large fortune so that it will do half as much good in the world as it would if it were divided into moderate sums and in the hands of workmen who had earned it by industry and frugality. The piling up of estates often does great and conspicuous good.... But no man does with accumulated wealth so much good as the same amount would do in many hands.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)
