1977 German Grand Prix

The 1977 German Grand Prix was a Formula One race held at Hockenheimring on July 31, 1977. After Niki Lauda's near-fatal accident at the dangerous Nürburgring in 1976, the German Grand Prix was moved to and held every year except for 1 at Hockenheim until 2007, and this was the second year the race was held there (the first being 1970).

Famous quotes containing the words german and/or grand:

Reduced to a miserable mass level, the level of a Hitler, German Romanticism broke out into hysterical barbarism.
    Thomas Mann (1875–1955)

The allurement that women hold out to men is precisely the allurement that Cape Hatteras holds out to sailors: they are enormously dangerous and hence enormously fascinating. To the average man, doomed to some banal drudgery all his life long, they offer the only grand hazard that he ever encounters. Take them away, and his existence would be as flat and secure as that of a moo-cow.
    —H.L. (Henry Lewis)
