Famous quotes containing the words differences, tour and/or france:

Traveling, you realize that differences are lost: each city takes to resembling all cities, places exchange their form, order, distances, a shapeless dust cloud invades the continents.
    Italo Calvino (1923–1985)

I believe he will either do this by advocating Prohibition, or else he will run on a Prohibition platform independent of the Democrats. But you will see that the year before the election he will organize a mammoth lecture tour and will make Prohibition the leading note of every address.
    William Howard Taft (1857–1930)

It is not what France gave you but what it did not take from you that was important.
    Gertrude Stein (1874–1946)
