Famous quotes containing the words consolation, night, series and/or competition:

Father of mercies and the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God.
Bible: New Testament, 2 Corinthians 1:3-4.

That night your great guns, unawares,
Shook all our coffins as we lay,
    And broke the chancel window-squares,
We thought it was the Judgment-day
    Thomas Hardy (1840–1928)

Every Age has its own peculiar faith.... Any attempt to translate into facts the mission of one Age with the machinery of another, can only end in an indefinite series of abortive efforts. Defeated by the utter want of proportion between the means and the end, such attempts might produce martyrs, but never lead to victory.
    Giuseppe Mazzini (1805–1872)

The elements of success in this business do not differ from the elements of success in any other. Competition is keen and bitter. Advertising is as large an element as in any other business, and since the usual avenues of successful exploitation are closed to the profession, the adage that the best advertisement is a pleased customer is doubly true for this business.
