1934 Green Bay Packers Season

The 1934 Green Bay Packers season was their 14th season in the National Football League (NFL). The club posted a 7-6-0 record under coach Curly Lambeau. The Packers played their Milwaukee, Wisconsin home games at Wisconsin State Fair Park.

During this season, a fan fell from the stands at old City Stadium and sued the Packers and won a $5,000 verdict. This caused the insurance company to go out of business and the Packers entered receivership. Green Bay business men raised $15,000 in new capital to prevent the team from folding.

Famous quotes containing the words green, bay and/or season:

    Time kills me terribly.
    “Time shall not murder you,” He said,
    “Nor the green nought be hurt;
    Who could hack out your unsucked heart,
    O green and unborn and undead?”
    I saw time murder me.
    Dylan Thomas (1914–1953)

    Baltimore lay very near the immense protein factory of Chesapeake Bay, and out of the bay it ate divinely. I well recall the time when prime hard crabs of the channel species, blue in color, at least eight inches in length along the shell, and with snow-white meat almost as firm as soap, were hawked in Hollins Street of Summer mornings at ten cents a dozen.
    —H.L. (Henry Lewis)

    The LORD will open for you his rich storehouse, the heavens, to give the rain of your land in its season and to bless all your undertakings.
    Bible: Hebrew, Deuteronomy 28:12.
