1929 24 Hours of Le Mans

The 1929 24 Hours of Le Mans was the 7th Grand Prix of Endurance, and took place on June 15 and 16 1929.

Prior to the event, the ACO modified the course near the actual town of Le Mans so that it did not enter as far into the suburbs. The shortcut was built at the ACO's expense, and shortened the track length by approximately a kilometer.

Famous quotes containing the words hours and/or mans:

Of what use the friendliest dispositions even, if there are no hours given to Friendship, if it is forever postponed to unimportant duties and relations? Friendship is first, Friendship last.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Of Mans First Disobedience, and the Fruit
Of that Forbidden Tree, whose mortal taste
Brought Death into the World, and all our woe,
With loss of Eden, till one greater Man
Restore us, and regain the blissful Seat,
Sing Heav’nly Muse, that on the secret top
Of Oreb, or of Sinai, didst inspire
That Shepherd, who first taught the chosen Seed,
In the Beginning how the Heav’ns and Earth
    Rose out of Chaos:
    John Milton (1608–1674)
