The Great Race 2008

The Great Race 2008 was originally planned to travel across United States, Canada, China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Switzerland and France, with cars and teams being flown from Vancouver, British Columbia, to Shanghai. The race was to included three classes: Schuster Class for cars, trucks or motorcycles at least 25 years old; MPG Challenge for hybrid-electric vehicles made since 2004; Innovation class, for renewable energy or other vehicles capable of achieving hyper fuel efficiency. The race was posponed as the approval to travel through China has been recalled and the permits have been placed on hold.
