- The VFL's leading goalkicker was Charlie Baker of St Kilda with 30 goals; this is actually more impressive considering St Kilda won the "wooden spoon", a VFL/AFL record seven matches behind second-last placed Geelong, without winning a match (Ted Rowell of Collingwood finished with 33 goals, but Baker won the medal as it only considers the home-and-away-season).
