Club Career
While Zhao Xuri originally started his professional football career with second tier football club Dalian Saidelong, he did not make an impact within the team, however top tier side Sichuan Guancheng took an interest within the youngster. During the 2003 league season he would quickly rise to prominence and immediately established himself as an integral member within the team by playing in 27 league games and scoring 2 goals in his debut season. The following season was to prove significantly more difficult as Zhao Xuri was injured through most of the season only making 9 appearances. He was still highly regarded enough to be transferred to Dalian Shide where due to his versatility he would continue to establish himself as a regular and go on win the 2005 first division title.
Zhao transferred to Guangzhou Evergrande on 26 December 2011, along with Rong Hao, Li Jianbin and Peng Xinli. He made his official debut for Guangzhou in a 2-1 Chinese FA Super Cup victory against Tianjin Teda on 25 February 2012. He scored first goal for Guangzhou on 21 July 2012 in a 2–1 away victory against Henan Construction.

“Mi advise tu them who are about tu begin, in arnest, the jurney ov life, is tu take their harte in one hand and a club in the other.”
—Josh Billings [Henry Wheeler Shaw] (18181885)
“I began my editorial career with the presidency of Mr. Adams, and my principal object was to render his administration all the assistance in my power. I flattered myself with the hope of accompanying him through [his] voyage, and of partaking in a trifling degree, of the glory of the enterprise; but he suddenly tacked about, and I could follow him no longer. I therefore waited for the first opportunity to haul down my sails.”
—William Cobbett (17621835)
