Winnersh Triangle Railway Station - History

History

The station is 64 miles 72 chains (104.4 km) from London (Charing Cross), measured via Redhill, and 24 chains (480 m) east of a bridge over the River Loddon; it was opened by British Rail on 12 May 1986. It was built to serve large new housing and office developments situated nearby, and developers of these contributed 20% of the cost of building the station. The remainder of the costs were met by Berkshire County Council and British Rail.
