Famous quotes containing the words parker, sports and/or college:

    Across Parker Avenue from the fort is the Site of the Old Gallows, where 83 men “stood on nothin’, a-lookin’ up a rope.” The platform had a trap wide enought to “accommodate” 12 men, but half that number was the highest ever reached.     And half a tillage stints thy smiling plain;
    Oliver Goldsmith (1730?–1774)

    Mrs. Pilletti: This girl is a college graduate.
    Catherine: They’re the worst. College girls are one step from the street, I tell you.
