Sampling and Measurement of Water Quality Standard

The complexity of water quality as a subject is reflected in the many types of measurements of water quality indicators. The most accurate measurements of water quality are made on-site, because water exists in equilibrium with its surroundings. Measurements commonly made on-site and in direct contact with the water source in question include temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, oxygen reduction potential (ORP), turbidity, and Secchi disk depth.

Famous quotes containing the words measurement, water, quality and/or standard:

That’s the great danger of sectarian opinions, they always accept the formulas of past events as useful for the measurement of future events and they never are, if you have high standards of accuracy.
    John Dos Passos (1896–1970)

    it
was my first doll that water went
into and water came out of much
earlier it was the diaper I wore
and the dirt thereof and my
    mother hating me for it
    Anne Sexton (1928–1974)

It is not stressful circumstances, as such, that do harm to children. Rather, it is the quality of their interpersonal relationships and their transactions with the wider social and material environment that lead to behavioral, emotional, and physical health problems. If stress matters, it is in terms of how it influences the relationships that are important to the child.
    Felton Earls (20th century)

Neither I nor anyone else knows what a standard is. We all recognize a dishonorable act, but have no idea what honor is.
    Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (1860–1904)
