Wade Redden

Wade Redden (born June 12, 1977) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. Redden is a member of the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Redden joined the New York Rangers in 2008 after 11 seasons with the Ottawa Senators. He has played for Canada internationally seven times, winning two gold medals in the World Junior Championships and one in the World Cup of Hockey. Redden was demoted to the Rangers' organization American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Connecticut Whale by the Rangers in 2010 so as to clear his salary off its NHL salary cap. He has played two seasons for the Whale and was its captain in 2011–12. As of October 2012, Redden is on the Rangers' roster and locked out along with the rest of the NHL players.
