Leadership
Vintage Church utilizes a voluntary leadership model, with only one paid, full-time staff member (the lead pastor) as of May 2008. All ministries of the church are currently led by 'lay leaders'. The church has a multi-tiered leadership structure as follows: 1) 'Steering Team' (commonly known in most Protestant churches as the 'Elders'), which is currently made up of 6 individuals and has the highest authority in regards to decision making for the organization. 2) 'Operations Team', which oversees finances in regards to decisions voted upon by the Steering Team. 3) 'Leadership Team', which is currently made up of over 25 volunteers who lead the varying ministries of the church. The Leadership Team votes on all major decisions brought to it by the Steering Team, and provides and avenue for feedback and input into the future direction of the church.

“During the first World War women in the United States had a chance to try their capacities in wider fields of executive leadership in industry. Must we always wait for war to give us opportunity? And must the pendulum always swing back in the busy world of work and workers during times of peace?”

“The liberal wing of the feminist movement may have improved the lives of its middle- and upper-class constituencyindeed, 1992 was the Year of the White Middle Class Womanbut since the leadership of this faction of the feminist movement has singled out black men as the meta-enemy of women, these women represent one of the most serious threats to black male well-being since the Klan.”

“A woman who occupies the same realm of thought with man, who can explore with him the depths of science, comprehend the steps of progress through the long past and prophesy those of the momentous future, must ever be surprised and aggravated with his assumptions of leadership and superiority, a superiority she never concedes, an authority she utterly repudiates.”
—Elizabeth Cady Stanton (18151902)
