Teaching and Degrees
Undergraduate teaching is centred on the affiliated colleges of the university. Undergraduates enroll for a three-year program. Students are assigned for an honours course when they enter the university, and cannot change it later. Science and business disciplines are in high demand, as these fields are perceived to have better job opportunities. University is only responsible for conducting the bachelors degree examination and conferring bachelor's degrees to students. University himself offers postgraduate degrees (M.Sc, M.A, M.Com, M.Phil) to the students and it also offers Ph.D degrees to the students of their own department as well as specialized institutions.

Famous quotes containing the words teaching and/or degrees:
“Mrs. Zajac knows you didnt try. You dont just hand in junk to Mrs. Zajac. Shes been teaching an awful lot of years. She didnt fall off the turnip cart yesterday. She told you she was an old-lady teacher.”
—Christine Zajac, U.S. fifth-grade teacher. As quoted in Among Schoolchildren, September section, part 1, by Tracy Kidder (1989)
“The most durable thing in writing is style, and style is the most valuable investment a writer can make with his time. It pays off slowly, your agent will sneer at it, your publisher will misunderstand it, and it will take people you have never heard of to convince them by slow degrees that the writer who puts his individual mark on the way he writes will always pay off.”
—Raymond Chandler (18881959)
