Venice Art Walk & Auctions
Venice Family Clinic produces the annual Venice Art Walk & Auctions fundraising event, which was started in 1979 with the help of artists who resided in Venice and were patients of the clinic. The Venice Art Walk & Auctions, known originally as the Venice Art Walk, grew substantially over the years due to Venice's global notoriety as a major art scene. In 2010, the event featured a tour of more than 50 artists' studios and a silent art auction of over 400 donated works. It is typically held on the third weekend in May.

Famous quotes containing the words venice, art and/or walk:
“Decade after decade, artists came to paint the light of Provincetown, and comparisons were made to the lagoons of Venice and the marshes of Holland, but then the summer ended and most of the painters left, and the long dingy undergarment of the gray New England winter, gray as the spirit of my mood, came down to visit.”
—Norman Mailer (b. 1923)
“Art is never chaste. It ought to be forbidden to ignorant innocents, never allowed into contact with those not sufficiently prepared. Yes, art is dangerous. Where it is chaste, it is not art.”
—Pablo Picasso (18811973)
“Any walk through a park that runs between a double line of mangy trees and passes brazenly by the ladies toilet is invariably known as Lovers Lane.”
—F. Scott Fitzgerald (18961940)
