The Vanuatu flying fox or white flying fox (Pteropus anetianus) is a species of megabat in the Pteropodidae family. It is endemic to Vanuatu. It is most closely related to the Samoan flying fox.
Famous quotes containing the words flying and/or fox:
“If neurotic is wanting two mutually exclusive things at one and the same time, then Im neurotic as hell. Ill be flying back and forth between one mutually exclusive thing and another for the rest of my days.”
—Sylvia Plath (19321963)
“We follow where the Swamp Fox guides,
His friends and merry men are we;
And when the troop of Tarleton rides,
We burrow in the cypress tree.
The turfy hammock is our bed,
Our home is in the red deers den,
Our roof, the tree-top overhead,
For we are wild and hunted men.”
—William Gilmore Simms (18061872)
