The current Director of SIR is Professor Robert English. He earned his PhD from Princeton University and specializes in Russia/the former Soviet Union and eastern Europe; international political economy; international relations theory and ethnicity, religion and nationalism.
The previous Directors are: Professor Odell, Professor Brand, Professor Steven Lamy, and before that Professor Jonathan Aronson, Professor Friedheim; Professor Biersteker; Professor Fry; Professor Berkes.
