Tuen Mun

Tuen Mun (simplified Chinese: 屯门; traditional Chinese: 屯門; pinyin: Túnmén, Jyutping: Tyun4 Mun4, Hakka: Tun2 Mun2; lit. "Garrison Gate") is a town near the mouth of Tuen Mun River and Castle Peak Bay in the New Territories, Hong Kong. It was one of the earliest settlements in Hong Kong which can be dated back to the Neolithic period. In the more recent past, it was home to many Tanka fishermen who gathered at the Castle Peak Bay. Tuen Mun is now a modern mainly residential area in north-west New Territories.
