Tube Lines

Tube Lines

Tube Lines Limited, initially known as 'Infraco JNP', is an asset-management company responsible for the maintenance, renewal and upgrade of the infrastructure, including track, trains, signals, civil work and stations, of three London Underground lines. The company has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Transport for London (TfL) since May 2010. Tube Lines' headquarters are at 15 Westferry Circus, London.

Tube Lines was established under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme in 2003 to provide maintenance services to the London Underground, together with another company, Metronet. Metronet entered administration in 2008 and was bought by TfL. Tube Lines was also bought by TfL in 2010 following a funding shortfall.

Famous quotes containing the words tube and/or lines:

One of the great natural phenomena is the way in which a tube of toothpaste suddenly empties itself when it hears that you are planning a trip, so that when you come to pack it is just a twisted shell of its former self, with not even a cubic millimeter left to be squeezed out.
    Robert Benchley (1889–1945)

Who will in fairest book of Nature know
How virtue may best lodged in beauty be,
Let him but learn of love to read in thee,
Stella, those fair lines which true goodness show.
There shall he find all vices’ overthrow,
Not by rude force, but sweetest sovereignty
    Of reason,
    Sir Philip Sidney (1554–1586)
