TRAX (light Rail) - Planned Expansion Projects

Planned Expansion Projects

UTA has ordered a Draft Environment Study Report for transit alternatives in southern Davis County, including more comprehensive bus service, streetcar lines, and a TRAX line. Some residents opposed UTA's proposal to bring light rail to southern Davis County.

In conjunction with the Mountain View Corridor project, there are also non-specific plans to eventually build a TRAX line on the west side of the Salt Lake Valley in the same general area as the Mountain View Corridor.

Famous quotes containing the words planned, expansion and/or projects:

“If little planned is little sinned
But little need the grave distress.
What’s dying but a second wind?
    How but in zig-zag wantonness
Could trumpeter Michael be so brave?”
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

The fundamental steps of expansion that will open a person, over time, to the full flowering of his or her individuality are the same for both genders. But men and women are rarely in the same place struggling with the same questions at the same age.
    Gail Sheehy (20th century)

But look what we have built ... low-income projects that become worse centers of delinquency, vandalism and general social hopelessness than the slums they were supposed to replace.... Cultural centers that are unable to support a good bookstore. Civic centers that are avoided by everyone but bums.... Promenades that go from no place to nowhere and have no promenaders. Expressways that eviscerate great cities. This is not the rebuilding of cities. This is the sacking of cities.
    Jane Jacobs (b. 1916)
