Time Machine (roller Coaster) - Reception

Reception

Reviews of The Time Machine were mixed. The Coaster Critic's review of Led Zeppelin – The Ride described the overall ride experience as a "great attraction", praising the pre-show and the synchronised soundtrack. They concluded by giving the ride 8.5 out of 10. Jeremy Thompson of Roller Coaster Philosophy gave a similar review. Thompson thoroughly enjoyed the ride, stating he would rank it as number 15 in his top coasters list. He did however criticize the lack of elements in the second half of the ride. Arthur Levine of About.com extended on Thompson's criticism, stating the ride is one of the top 10 overrated roller coasters in North America. Levine described the ride as an "impressive-looking coaster" that "has almost no airtime, shudders a bit as it delivers a few head-banging moments, and is largely nondescript". In Mitch Hawker's worldwide Best Roller Coaster Poll, The Time Machine peaked at position 102 in its debut year. In 2009, it dropped to 138 out of the 368 ranked steel roller coasters.

Famous quotes containing the word reception:

To aim to convert a man by miracles is a profanation of the soul. A true conversion, a true Christ, is now, as always, to be made by the reception of beautiful sentiments.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

But in the reception of metaphysical formula, all depends, as regards their actual and ulterior result, on the pre-existent qualities of that soil of human nature into which they fall—the company they find already present there, on their admission into the house of thought.
    Walter Pater (1839–1894)

To the United States the Third World often takes the form of a black woman who has been made pregnant in a moment of passion and who shows up one day in the reception room on the forty-ninth floor threatening to make a scene. The lawyers pay the woman off; sometimes uniformed guards accompany her to the elevators.
    Lewis H. Lapham (b. 1935)
