The Pilot (1995)
In the pilot, two characters appear virtually the same as they do in the two series:
- The Manager (Peter Duff), as played by Jim Broadbent.
- Bradley, (with a different hairstyle) as played by David Schneider.
The rest of the cast is as follows:
- Lesley Sharp as Susan Harvey, the Assistant Manager.
- Stuart McQuarrie as David Edwards, the Area Manager.
- David Gant as Geoffrey.
- Linda Bassett as Iris.
- Zoe Heyes as Brenda.
The bank interior is different to that featured in the two series, and the exterior is not shown. Also, the opening and closing sequences are different.
The interior is rather claustrophobic compared to the bright, roomy appearance of the later set, and this, along with the pilot's cast, disconnects the pilot from the two series.
