Notes
- This is the first episode to feature former castmember Denise Crosby in a role other than that of Lt. Tasha Yar, this time portraying the Romulan Commander Sela. In this appearance she is heard but not explicitly seen, foreshadowing the character's appearance in the forthcoming "Redemption" episodes. She previously appeared as Tasha Yar in an alternate reality in the Season 3 episode "Yesterday's Enterprise".

Famous quotes containing the word notes:
“I am thankful for small mercies. I compared notes with one of my friends who expects everything of the universe, and is disappointed when anything is less than best, and I found that I begin at the other extreme, expecting nothing, and am always full of thanks for moderate goods.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
“My notes have a curious tendency, as I realize at last, to annihilate all they purport to record.”
—Samuel Beckett (1906–1989)
“There are only two or three human stories, and they go on repeating themselves as fiercely as if they had never happened before; like the larks in this country, that have been singing the same five notes over for thousands of years.”
—Willa Cather (1873–1947)
