The Beach Boys in Concert

The Beach Boys in Concert is the second live album officially released in the U.S. by The Beach Boys. It was released in late 1973, nine years after Beach Boys Concert. (Although Live in London was released in the UK in 1970, it was not released in the U.S. until 1976). The album gave the band their best chart peak since 1968's Wild Honey by reaching No. 25, and earning them their first gold record since 1966's Best of The Beach Boys. The album is now available on a single-disc CD.

Famous quotes containing the words beach, boys and/or concert:

A young person is a person with nothing to learn
One who already knows that ice does not chill and fire does not burn . . .
It knows it can spend six hours in the sun on its first
day at the beach without ending up a skinless beet,
And it knows it can walk barefoot through the barn
without running a nail in its feet. . . .
    Meanwhile psychologists grow rich
Writing that the young are ones’ should not
    undermine the self-confidence of which.
    Ogden Nash (1902–1971)

Unfortunately there is still a cultural stereotype that it’s all right for girls to be affectionate but that once boys reach six or seven, they no longer need so much hugging and kissing. What this does is dissuade boys from expressing their natural feelings of tenderness and affection. It is important that we act affectionately with our sons as well as our daughters.
    Stephanie Martson (20th century)

Man is head, chest and stomach. Each of these animals operates, more often than not, individually. I eat, I feel, I even, although rarely, think.... This jungle crawls and teems, is hungry, roars, gets angry, devours itself, and its cacophonic concert does not even stop when you are asleep.
    René Daumal (1908–1944)
