Greek Life

Nearly 20 percent of the undergraduate student population is active in Greek life on campus. There are four NPC sororities (Alpha Delta Pi, Kappa Delta, Sigma Kappa and Zeta Tau Alpha), five NIC fraternities (Phi Mu Alpha, Tau Kappa Epsilon, Theta Chi, Pi Kappa Phi and Phi Mu Delta), and two NPHC organizations (Sigma Gamma Rho and Phi Beta Sigma). There is also a professional women's music organization (Sigma Alpha Iota) and one co-ed service fraternity (Alpha Phi Omega).

Famous quotes containing the words greek and/or life:

Certainly for us of the modern world, with its conflicting claims, its entangled interests, distracted by so many sorrows, so many preoccupations, so bewildering an experience, the problem of unity with ourselves in blitheness and repose, is far harder than it was for the Greek within the simple terms of antique life. Yet, not less than ever, the intellect demands completeness, centrality.
    Walter Pater (1839–1894)

Undershaft: Alcohol is a very necessary article. It heals the sick—Barbara: It does nothing of the sort. Undershaft: Well, it assists the doctor: that is perhaps a less questionable way of putting it. It makes life bearable to millions of people who could not endure their existence if they were quite sober. It enables Parliament to do things at eleven at night that no sane person would do at eleven in the morning.
    George Bernard Shaw (1856–1950)
