History

Subang Parade was constructed between 1987 and 1988. It was officially opened by Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah of Selangor on 13 August 1988. Between 1998 and 2003, Subang Parade was managed by The Lion Group. In 2003, Subang Parade was sold to The Hektar Group before being sold into the Hektar REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust). The shopping centre consists of 1 level of service tunnel which spans the whole length of shopping centre. Above that is a basement carpark. The retail floors consist of a Lower Ground, Ground and First Floor. The unique aspect of the shopping centre is the interior layout. It was designed to have a good visibility of all tenants within the shopping centre.

In the early 1990s, it was well recognized as one of the longest shopping malls in Malaysia. Currently, it no longer holds this title.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

A poet’s object is not to tell what actually happened but what could or would happen either probably or inevitably.... For this reason poetry is something more scientific and serious than history, because poetry tends to give general truths while history gives particular facts.
    Aristotle (384–323 B.C.)

Indeed, the Englishman’s history of New England commences only when it ceases to be New France.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

The history of the genesis or the old mythology repeats itself in the experience of every child. He too is a demon or god thrown into a particular chaos, where he strives ever to lead things from disorder into order.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
