Strawberry Fair - Music and Art

Music and Art

A range of musical genres are represented at the fair across several music stages. Local bands are predominantly selected to play; however those from further afield also feature. Young performers are also given their own stage to showcase their talents. Children are catered for by totally free and enclosed entertainments area that includes face painters, bouncy castles, a family friendly cafe, a marquee full of activities like painting and crafts, storytelling and many other attractions. An Arts area also allows local art to be displayed and for visitors to the fair on the day to try their hand at something new.

Famous quotes containing the words music and/or art:

    Slow, slow, fresh fount, keep time with my salt tears;
    Yet slower yet, oh faintly gentle springs:
    List to the heavy part the music bears,
    “Woe weeps out her division when she sings.”
    Droop herbs and flowers;
    Fall grief in showers;
    “Our beauties are not ours”:
    Oh, I could still,
    Like melting snow upon some craggy hill,
    Drop, drop, drop, drop,
    Since nature’s pride is, now, a withered daffodil.
    Ben Jonson (1572–1637)

    Where art thou, death?
    Come hither, come! Come, come, and take a queen
    Worth many babes and beggars!
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
