South West Coast Path - Charity Fundraising

Charity Fundraising

Many individuals or organisations use a walk on all or part of the path to raise money for charity. In 2005 WaterAid used the whole length of the South West Coast Path for a charity walk called Coast Along which raised £50,000. A repeat Coast Along event was held on 15 September 2007, with 600 individuals participating, and another event was planned for 2009. In 2012 Mal Law ran the entire path in 17 days for mental health charities.

Famous quotes containing the word charity:

Governments can err, Presidents do make mistakes, but the immortal Dante tells us that divine justice weighs the sins of the cold-blooded and the sins of the warm-hearted in different scales. Better the occasional faults of a Government that lives in a spirit of charity than the constant omission of a Government frozen in the ice of its own indifference.
    Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882–1945)
