Firematic Officers
Department personnel are commanded by a Chief of Department with assistance of two Assistant Fire Chiefs along with five captains, and five lieutenants. The chief officers, captains and lieutenants are elected annually by members of the Fire Department; the chief officers must be then appointed by the Board of Fire Commissioners.
Two Safety Officers, appointed by the Fire Chief, also serve on the command staff to advise the Chief of Department or Incident Commander during fire, rescue and medical operations; they are, however, not considered fire officers by the Snyder Fire District.
Elected fire officers must meet certain minimum training and time-in-service standards established by the Fire Department and Fire District.
