Smethwick Galton Bridge Railway Station - Services

Services

The High Level platforms 1 & 2 are served by Chiltern Railways & London Midland. Services by Chiltern Railways are run by the Class 168 to London Marylebone, but this service only runs during the weekday peak time and the Kidderminster to London Marylebone route, with 6 trains to London in the morning and 5 from London in the evening. London Midland services - the "Snow Hill lines" - run much as the former Central Trains did, with Class 172 units; running every 10 minutes during the daytime, and every 30 minutes on Sundays & evenings to Stourbridge Junction and Birmingham Snow Hill and Moor Street. Some trains to Stourbridge run on to Kidderminster, the Worcester triangle (Worcester Shrub Hill and/or Worcester Foregate Street) and Great Malvern. Trains to Birmingham split off and either go on to Dorridge, with some trains from Dorridge extending onto Leamington Spa or Whitlocks End and Stratford-upon-Avon.

The low level platforms 3 & 4 are served by both London Midland and Arriva Trains Wales. London Midland operate two trains per hour each direction from Walsall to Wolverhampton via Birmingham New Street, usually operated by Class 323 electric multiple units; and an hourly Birmingham-Liverpool Lime Street service, usually formed of a Class 350 Desiro electric multiple unit. Arriva Trains Wales operates an hourly service between Birmingham International and Chester (with some extentions to Holyhead) or Aberystwyth and Pwllheli. These services are formed of pairs of Class 158 Express Sprinter diesel multiple units.

Famous quotes containing the word services:

We now in the United States have more security guards for the rich than we have police services for the poor districts. If you’re looking for personal security, far better to move to the suburbs than to pay taxes in New York.
    John Kenneth Galbraith (b. 1908)

    It seems I impregnated Marge
So I do rather feel, by and large,
    Some cash should be tendered
    For services rendered,
But I can’t quite decide what to charge.
    Anonymous.

A good marriage ... is a sweet association in life: full of constancy, trust, and an infinite number of useful and solid services and mutual obligations.
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)
