Sierra Madre Occidental - Water

Water

This has led many of the rivers that runoff of the mountains to become a source of water for irrigation in the surrounding lands. From the need of water to irrigate the mountains, dams were built, which has caused several environmental concerns in the area.

Famous quotes containing the word water:

    it
was my first doll that water went
into and water came out of much
earlier it was the diaper I wore
and the dirt thereof and my
    mother hating me for it
    Anne Sexton (1928–1974)

But sound of water over a rock
Where the hermit-thrush sings in the pine trees
Drip drop drip drop drop drop drop
    But there is no water
    —T.S. (Thomas Stearns)

Communism, my friend, is more than Marxism, just as Catholicism ... is more than the Roman Curia. There is a mystique as well as a politique.... Catholics and Communists have committed great crimes, but at least they have not stood aside, like an established society, and been indifferent. I would rather have blood on my hands than water like Pilate.
    Graham Greene (1904–1991)
