Shove ha'penny (or shove halfpenny), also known in ancestral form as shoffe-grote, slype groat, and slide-thrift, is a pub game in the shuffleboard family, played predominantly in the United Kingdom. Two players or teams compete against one another using coins or discs on a tabletop board.
Famous quotes containing the word shove:
“In the corrupted currents of this world
Offences gilded hand may shove by justice,
And oft tis seen the wicked prize itself
Buys out the law; but tis not so above:
There is no shuffling.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
