Шолохова) was founded in 1951 as Moscow Pedagogical Institute for Correspondence Studies (Russian: Московский заочный педагогический институт). Sholokhov Moscow State University for Humanities bears an honorary name of Mikhail Sholokhov - a Russian writer who won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1965.
