Conglomerate companies (including SAP BusinessObjects, IBM Cognos, SPSS Modeler, Oracle Hyperion, and Microsoft BI) have also entered the market to compete against independent vendors via industry acquisitions. Gartner, an independent market analyses firm, placed SAS in the "Leaders" quadrant of their 2010 BI Magic Quadrant.
