Besides the Archdiocese of Jaro, the district includes the headquarters of the Convention of Philippine Baptist Churches, as well as the first Baptist church in the Philippines, the Jaro Evangelical Church, founded in 1901, and the 2nd Protestant University in the Philippines, Central Philippine University.
