Governing Body
Rugby union in Japan is governed by the Japan Rugby Football Union.
The Japan Rugby Football Union was officially formed on 30 November 1926, and became a full member of the International Rugby Board (with one seat on the Executive Council) in 1987, just before the 1987 Rugby World Cup. It is also a founding member of the Asian Rugby Football Union.

Famous quotes containing the words governing and/or body:
“We are apt to say that a foreign policy is successful only when the country, or at any rate the governing class, is united behind it. In reality, every line of policy is repudiated by a section, often by an influential section, of the country concerned. A foreign minister who waited until everyone agreed with him would have no foreign policy at all.”
—A.J.P. (Alan John Percivale)
“When a natural king becomes a titular king, every body is pleased and satisfied.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
