Romance of The Three Kingdoms (TV Series) - Cast

Cast

Due to the time taken to complete the project (four years), there were numerous instances of multiple actors playing the same character, or the same actor taking on multiple roles. Chen Zhihui is an extreme example of the latter of the two cases because he played a total of four roles - three as generals from Wei, Shu and Wu (Xu Chu, Liao Hua, and Taishi Ci) and one as minor warlord Bao Xin. Two other prominent examples of the latter case are Wu Xiaodong and Hong Yuzhou - the former was cast as Sun Jian in episode 5 and as Sun Quan from episode 30 onwards; the latter played a young Yuan Shao in episode 5 (the older Yuan Shao is portrayed by Li Qingxiang) and Zhou Yu from episode 9 onwards. An example of the former case is Zhang Liao, who is portrayed by Xu Shaohua in episode 12, Zhang Yakun in episode 39 and Wang Weiguo in episode 54.

Famous quotes containing the word cast:

For such despite they cast on female wits:
If what I do prove well, it won’t advance,
They’ll say it’s stol’n, or else it was by chance.
    Anne Bradstreet (c. 1612–1672)

For it is with the mysteries of our religion, as with wholesome pills for the sick, which swallowed whole, have the virtue to cure; but chewed, are for the most part cast up again without effect.
    Thomas Hobbes (1588–1679)

    indolence read as abnegation,
    slattern thought styled intuition,
    every lapse forgiven, our crime
only to cast too bold a shadow
or smash the mold straight off.
    Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)
