Personal Life
Craig is married to Vernessia (high school sweetheart) and has five children Damesha, Rometra, Rogdrick, Alexander and Nia- Jai. They live in Portola Valley, CA.
Craig spent several years studying Tae Kwon Do under Chris Jensen & Debbie Pederson at Golden State Tae Kwon Do in Foster City (now in San Carlos).
He currently works in marketing at Tibco Software in Palo Alto, California.
Craig is an avid runner and has participated in numerous marathons. He was the Grand Marshal for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway.
During his 49ers career he was nicknamed "Catfish" for his wide-eyed expression during runs. It earned him ribbing from his teammates when coach Bill Walsh would organize fishing trips to a lake near the Niners training facility: Walsh would joke "If you catch Roger, you don't get the hundred bucks." A painting of a catfish with a football and wearing a Craig jersey was commissioned and hung in the Niners locker room.

Famous quotes containing the words personal and/or life:
“No Vice or Wickedness, which People fall into from Indulgence to Desires which are natural to all, ought to place them below the Compassion of the virtuous Part of the World; which indeed often makes me a little apt to suspect the Sincerity of their Virtue, who are too warmly provoked at other Peoples personal Sins.”
—Richard Steele (16721729)
“For universal love is as special an aspect as carnal love or any of the other kinds: all forms of mental and spiritual activity must be practiced and encouraged equally if the whole affair is to prosper. There is no cutting corners where the life of the soul is concerned....”
—John Ashbery (b. 1927)
