Richmond Outreach Center

The Richmond Outreach Center (ROC) is a nondenominational Christian ministry in Richmond, Virginia, that has been described as both a church and an outreach center. It was founded in 2001 by Geronimo Aguilar, who is also known as "Pastor G", and a group of family members and followers from Los Angeles. The ROC originated in a small warehouse across from Pure Pleasure off Midlothian Turnpike. Starting with just one bus for transporting people to the various programs offered, by the time they moved to a larger location - ironically just a few blocks down from the original location - they had nearly 10 buses running. Now the ROC has a new home, located in the old flea market on Midlothian Turnpike, and has several dozen busses running for various programs on a weekly, if not daily basis. Beside it is one of the church's thrift stores, "The Love of Jesus" thrift store.

Famous quotes containing the words richmond and/or center:

    “Trams and dusty trees.
Highbury bore me. Richmond and Kew
Undid me. By Richmond I raised my knees
Supine on the floor of a narrow canoe.”
    —T.S. (Thomas Stearns)

The greatest part of each day, each year, each lifetime is made up of small, seemingly insignificant moments. Those moments may be cooking dinner...relaxing on the porch with your own thoughts after the kids are in bed, playing catch with a child before dinner, speaking out against a distasteful joke, driving to the recycling center with a week’s newspapers. But they are not insignificant, especially when these moments are models for kids.
