Reverb loves being a Decepticon and the violence he brings others.
According to the toy designers Reverb is actually an homage to the violent Predacon red ant named Inferno from the Beast Wars TV series. The reference "Colony Racing" is a reference to Inferno's frequent use of the term in the television series. "97" is the year Inferno was released.
