Family
Regina Ip was married to Sammy Ip Man-ho from 1981 until his death from cancer in 1997, aged 62. They have one daughter, Cynthia, who was herself embroiled in a controversy at the University of Pennsylvania, when allegations surfaced that she, as an executive member of the University's Undergraduate Assembly, planned and facilitated an event in which students were tied to chairs and made to drink alcohol. She, along with the rest of the Assembly, was found guilty of violating the University's Antihazing and Alcohol and Drug Policies.

Famous quotes containing the word family:
“Q: What would have made a family and career easier for you?
A: Being born a man.”
—Anonymous Mother, U.S. physician and mother of four. As quoted in Women and the Work Family Dilemma, by Deborah J. Swiss and Judith P. Walker, ch. 2 (1993)
“The East is the hearthside of America. Like any home, therefore, it has the defects of its virtues. Because it is a long-lived-in house, it bursts its seams, is inconvenient, needs constant refurbishing. And some of the family resources have been spent. To attain the privacy that grown-up people find so desirable, Easterners live a harder life than people elsewhere. Today it is we and not the frontiersman who must be rugged to survive.”
—Phyllis McGinley (19051978)
“Public employment contributes neither to advantage nor happiness. It is but honorable exile from ones family and affairs.”
—Thomas Jefferson (17431826)
