Famous quotes containing the words list of, list, current and/or judges:

    “Shea—they call him Scholar Jack—
Went down the list of the dead.
    Officers, seamen, gunners, marines,
The crews of the gig and yawl,
The bearded man and the lad in his teens,
    Carpenters, coal-passers—all.”
    —Joseph I. C. Clarke (1846–1925)

“My list of things I never pictured myself saying when I pictured myself as a parent has grown over the years.”
    —Polly Berrien Berends (20th century)

“Without the Empire we should be tossed like a cork in the cross current of world politics. It is at once our sword and our shield.”
    —William Morris Hughes (1864–1952)

“The World is not enough used to this way of writing, to the moment. It knows not that in the minutiae lie often the unfoldings of the Story, as well as of the heart; and judges of an action undecided, as if it were absolutely decided.”
    —Samuel Richardson (1689–1761)
