Activities

In addition to their academic and pastoral activities, the students at the College participate in athletic competitions with students from other institutions. Since 2007, the College has competed in an annual soccer tournament among Roman Colleges, called the Clericus Cup. On May 12, 2012, the seminary's soccer team, the North American Martyrs, won the tournament by defeating the 2011 champions, the Pontifical Gregorian University, 3-0.

Famous quotes containing the word activities:

There is, I think, no point in the philosophy of progressive education which is sounder than its emphasis upon the importance of the participation of the learner in the formation of the purposes which direct his activities in the learning process, just as there is no defect in traditional education greater than its failure to secure the active cooperation of the pupil in construction of the purposes involved in his studying.
    John Dewey (1859–1952)

When mundane, lowly activities are at stake, too much insight is detrimental—far-sightedness errs in immediate concerns.
    Franz Grillparzer (1791–1872)

If it is to be done well, child-rearing requires, more than most activities of life, a good deal of decentering from one’s own needs and perspectives. Such decentering is relatively easy when a society is stable and when there is an extended, supportive structure that the parent can depend upon.
    David Elkind (20th century)
