Placar - Golden Boot

Golden Boot

The Brazilian Golden Boot has been awarded to the highest goalscorer in Brazil each season since 2000. The award depends on a weighted system of points, with goals scored in certain competitions being worth more. This way, a goal scored in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A is worth more points than a goal scored in some of the State Championships.

Famous quotes containing the words golden and/or boot:

    Nor envy’s snaky eye, finds harbour here,
    Nor flatterers’ venomous insinuations,
    Nor cunning humorists’ puddled opinions,
    Nor courteous ruin of proffered usury,
    Nor time prattled away, cradle of ignorance,
    Nor causeless duty, nor comber of arrogance,
    Nor trifling title of vanity dazzleth us,
    Nor golden manacles stand for a paradise;
    Sir Philip Sidney (1554–1586)

    ... until the shopkeeper plants his boot in our eyes,
    and unties our bone and is finished with the case,
    and turns to the next customer, forgetting our face
    or how we knelt at the yellow bulb with sighs
    like moth wings for a short while in a small place.
    Anne Sexton (1928–1974)
