Famous quotes containing the words shan, heritage and/or trail:

If grandparents want to have a meaningful and constructive role, the first lesson they must learn is that becoming a grandparent is not having a second chance at parenthood!
    —Eda Le Shan (20th century)

There are some things which cannot be learned quickly, and time, which is all we have, must be paid heavily for their acquiring. They are the very simplest things and because it takes a man’s life to know them the little new that each man gets from life is very costly and the only heritage he has to leave.
    Ernest Hemingway (1899–1961)

It is not for man to follow the trail of truth too far, since by so doing he entirely loses the directing compass of his mind.
    Herman Melville (1819–1891)
