Park Vista Community High School - Re-Zoning

Re-Zoning

Due to the school being overcapacity, after the 07-08 school year, an area of Boynton Beach was re-zoned from Park Vista Community High School to Olympic Heights Community High School in Boca Raton. This area includes SAC's 259A, 259B, and 242, which include; Canyon Lakes, Canyon Isles, Canyon Springs, Equus, Cobblestone Creek, and Verona Lakes. Other areas were re-zoned for Boynton Beach Community High School, such as; SAC's 252, 260, 262A, 262B, 261, and 253. Developments included Sun Valley, Coronado Estates, Country Fair, Lakes of Boynton Beach, and Indian Springs. However, after local residents fought the Boundaries Committee of Palm Beach County School District, residents that were going to be re-zoned for Boynton Beach High School would have the option to "opt-out" and attend Olympic Heights Community High School. This was because BBCHS is a C-rated school and has excessive violence, according to parents and students. These changes only affected incoming freshmen for the 2008-2009 school year and after, meaning that any student already attending the school would automatically gain the right to stay at the school until they graduate.
