Panvel is a city and municipal council in Raigad district in the state of Maharashtra. Panvel is also known as the gateway of Konkan region. It is just after the Thane district border. Panvel is the starting point of the Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway, about 21 kilometres from Mumbai.
